Very good food (lots of butter on everything ).
I had breakfast with friends at Tatte, the place looks nice and cozy, and the menu looks good, the coffee I got was close to stone cold, I returned the coffee and got it back with a food bath on the plate and 2 degrees warmer. I ordered the house breakfast plate; this was also lukewarm, and I could not detect the tomato jam. I thought it was just my plate but then my friends were also mentioning that their food was barley warm. We live in the neighborhood and REALLY WANT to love this place, but unfortunately that’s not the case and this was our final attempt to like Tatte. We ordered 2 lattes to dine in and waited 25 minutes. We did finally received our lattes, which had been placed in to-go cups and sat on the counter for a while before being delivered to us (and were no longer hot). First time i visited Tatte in DC and fell in love… so I went again to the one in Alexandria closer to my house and still love the coffee and the food. This is my absolute favorite breakfast-brunch spot. Totally worth waiting in the line that is almost always there when I come, Which shows that not only me love this place.
This place is BUSY! But for good reason. I enjoy everything about it, except when they’re out of potato flutters. I highly recommend. Coffee is great too
