Tatte is a solid café. Great selection of pastries & desserts. Coffee & tea offerings are not extensive, & I don't feel like those drinks stand out much against other cafes. Food is good. I'm really enjoying the seasonal items this summer. I got the grilled chicken strawberry salad & the rhubarb pie. I dined in & had the pie heated up. Both dishes were yummy. I'd come back just for those. Noise level can be high. Very popular for lunch.
I rarely try any coffee shops that are less than a 4.5 rating. This was walking distance from my hotel so I gave it a shot. My hot latte tasted like water. I actually threw it out and drove to Commonwealth Joe’s…they have fantastic espresso.

Fresh, flavorful, and worth the walk! My daughter and I grabbed breakfast here while in town for the weekend, and it was such a great find! It’s just a short walk from the Westin (which had a pretty underwhelming breakfast), so we wandered over and were so glad we did. It is a very pleasant cafe. The lunch and breakfast foods are delicious. The baked goods are wonderful! Close to a trailhead from where you can watch planes land or walk to DCA.
