Starting in 1946 as Safway Scaffolding Co. on 16th and Main, in downtown Boise, Tates Rents has gradually expanded throughout the years continually adding locations in the Treasure Valley. Currently, Tates Rents consists of 9 tool rental stores and an event location, Tates Tents and Events. With over 95 employees and the largest equipment and event rental inventory in Idaho, Tates Rents is ready to serve you.

I had a poor experience- I reserved some items a week in advance, then called day of to confirm my reservation. When I got to the store, they didn't have all of the items I had reserved and told me I would need to go to a different location to get the rest of them. This was frustrating- I wish I could have been told in advance to go to the other location rather than needing to go to both. Rented several trailers over the last few years with 0 issues. Then I go to rent a appliance Dolly today and I get told that I can't rent from there from a bill back in 2004. 2 issues here. I never lived here in 2004 and they cant tell me what it was for. **just posted a photo of a car i bought in California and rented a trailer (no issues renting) on April 27th 2018. Hmmmmm
This store has been great serving my new excavation buisness, quality equipment, very good customer service and polite employee's. Would recommend them to anyone. Thanks guys!!

This Tate’s has leaps and bounds improved with the new management. I can see a huge difference in the way the store is run and organized. These are changes that are going to be permanent from my knowledge due to how successful the new running of the store and team has been. Definitely recommend any Tate’s Rents and most definitely recommend the store on State street if you ever need to rent anything you can possibly think of for the home.
