I had a wonderful experience at Taproom Tavern! Steven was my bartender and server, and he was incredibly kind, helpful, and friendly. Even with the storm that had just passed through, they were still able to prepare food from the rooftop bar menu. When my cannoli arrived only half-filled, Steven immediately took it back and personally remade it for me. The new ones were delicious! He was awesome and truly went above and beyond to make my working dinner an easy and enjoyable experience. Thank you, Steven!
Party of five. All food was disgusting. Fish was hard, chicken tasted like leftovers out of the fridge. Musician was pleasant. Server didn't know the menu and kept running to the kitchen to ask. Drinks were good but ordinary. Should have known when there was nobody else there.
!!! scam likely !!! My wife and I decided to stay at Hotel Wayanoke for New Years and have dinner at the hotel restaurant Taproot Tavern. They had a New Years special going on. We prepaid online $60 a person. The hotel was great it was beautiful and all the staff in the hotel were personable and friendly. Our experience in the restaurant not so much. Made a reservation for the taproot tavern. No notice that it was closed for a private event and dinner seating would be inside the hotel at Effinghams. I believe there was one server and one bartender for the entire restaurant. We did feel bad for the waitress, as she seemed inexperienced and a little overwhelmed. The food was not good. Lamb “medallions” were small slivers of overcooked meat that resembled more like jerky. Ribeye steak was tough and not able to be cut with dull steak knives.
