Being a native North Carolinian, I have spent a lot of time in the mountains of Western NC (Go App State!), but had never even heard of Tapoco Lodge. My husband saw it on Tik Tok and we decided to book a weekend getaway to get away from it all. And boy, is it "away from it all", as there is very little commercialization around. We had lunch here on 27th July 2025 after an adrenaline trip on The Tail of the Dragon ride in a Porsche. The ride was simply awesome. The food later on in Tapoco was like a topping on a perfect day. We sat outside under the umbrella listening to the water flowing in the river....the beautiful staff who served us more with her smile on her face - couldn't get her name- was another positive factor.
