This is definitely one of the best places to enjoy a meal in downtown San Mateo! I absolutely love the concept of being able to customize your own meal—the idea is brilliant! Tang Bar’s outdoor umbrella fell on our stroller and table, knocked over all of our food, and almost hit our baby… no apologies from staff, and manager (Henry) refused to talk to us. They said it was the wind’s fault. Disheartened by such business and human behavior right in our neighborhood. One of my favorite mala tang spots in Bay Area! The broth is rich, flavorful, and has the perfect balance of spice. There are so many fresh ingredients to choose from, and everything always tastes fresh. I also love that they always have complimentary dessert and refreshing drinks, which is such a nice touch. The restaurant is clean, the staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy. The food and overall experience are consistently great. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
