Me and my best friend ate dinner there tonight for our birthday and it was divine! From the appetizer to the salad to our entrees, everything was fresh and delicious! We will be back!
We had reservations for 10 for Father's Day...couldn't wait for our family get together! When we arrived on time we were told someone wrote it down wrong as for 2! 10 does not sound like 2! There were several empty tables but they would not accommodate, and told us to come back in at least an hour! That was 12:30 then and we were hungry! Needless to say 4 local families will no longer be eating at Tanaras!
Should have written this sooner! BUT truly Tamara's is incredible! FOOD, SERVICE, FOOD!!! I am naturally a very critical person and I have not ONE complaint! Everything was/is lovely! A meal to remember! Tamara has worked very hard over the years and she and her restaurants deserve the recognition they deserve! PLease know at best Tamara is an aquintance from long. ago.
Stopped here for lunch last Friday on our way to Gulf Shores, beautiful atmosphere. Had the luncheon filet and it was great. Loved passing thru Fairhope and took the scenic route to the beach, plan to make this lunch stop again next time!!
We were in Fairhope about 6 years ago. We wanted someplace close to our hotel. So we walked to Tamara's. We ordered the special. It was grouper, some kind of crawfish or seafood sauce on a bed of like corn casserole and it came with grilled asparagus. It was the best thing we had ever eaten. It was about $26 a person but we also had drinks. We have often thought of driving to Fairhope[which we loved also] just to eat this food again. Does not look like it a special now.

Tamara's Downtown is by far our favorite restaurant--- We drive all the way from Holt, Fl because it is well worth it! Tonight my husband surprised me with an anniversary dinner there. Our server, Vanessa was the best! She was acceptionally pleasant and added that special touch to our dinner. Upon our arrival, the owner, Tamara came to our table, introduced herself and lit a candelabra for a romantic atmosphere! Try the shrimp stack! I had before the mardi gras ball and could hardly wait to go get more. Finally made it back today yes I got the shrimp stack!
My martini was terrible, our glasses stayed empty. Pricey to have such bad service.

Was there with my Redhat group...first it was freezing in the restaurant. Waitress kept saying it just takes time to warm up. It did not warm up. We all had to keep our coats on. Waitress had no personality. Restaurant was clean food is ok.
