Great place to eat
They have the best tamales I have had anywhere at a really good price--no more than $3 for one, and I think you can get two for 5. They're also really big, well worth the money. The decor is nothing fancy but once you taste the food you'll be glad you went!
This is our go-to place for tamales on the northwest side. The food is good, the prices are cheap, and the staff is friendly. They have different tamales every day, but when you go you always leave with something. Their chicken quesadillas are very good, too. Tamales Garibay has tamales like chicken mole, broccoli and cheese, etc. I would recommend this as a great place for tamales in Chicago!
THIS PLACE IS SERIOUSLY GOOD! I haven't tried their tacos or burritos, since the place is called tamales, but their tamales are so good. They make them every day, in a variety of flavors, and they are pretty large and very filling. $5 gets you 3. I'm a 200+ lb male, and 2 fills me up. Value vs. quality, this place gets 5 starts. You can eat there, but it's nothing special on the inside. Typical Mexican style corner taco shop, but be sure not to miss it if you're looking for some killer home made tamales.
