Suddenly wanted a drink, so... Tall Order: The same drink as the shop's name, a very beautiful one, like a crystal-clear sprite in the dark. It has the clean and mild sweetness of a three-star Presson rum, the bright acidity of a ten-year Madeira, and the crispness of pineapple peel and lime—overall very refreshing. It also has clarified coconut milk added, but the effect is rather subtle.
We sat outside, great relaxed vibe out there. The waitstaff were attentive, friendly, and felt like the supercool friend you can’t believe actually likes you! The inventive but not weird cocktails were first-rate. I love that there were clearly a stock of menu standards—amazing fried chicken sandwich, a burger named after the venue—but also some specials and small plates where the chef was really doing something interesting.
