From experience traveling around the globe, Toronto has a great transit system. Maps Goggle is mostly accurate. Passes and credit cards accepted. Metros, trams and buses are clean. Riders, for the must part, are polite. The only thing I did it witness was for younger people to offer their seats to the elderly that were standing in a crowded bus.
Once again, I decided to forgo the car to head downtown with the TTC only to face disappointment with the subway. Yet another incident where I have to climb stairs and orient fellow passengers to the shuttle. The first one went by as it was too full. And, for once, a TTC employee came to our rescue to let us know that subway service had resumed. 50 people headed back to the subway station. Why are there no large television monitors to let us know what is going on and guide us?
This is the absolute worst public transit system I've ever had to deal with. Slow trains, constant delays, terrible communication, frequent out of service trains & buses, etc. You can't rely on the TTC to get you anywhere on time.
