Yikes Well, unless you speak Chineese, you can't deal with these people. They cannot understand a single word. And apparantly, noone there speaks a single word of English! They may have had what we wanted, but there is no way to find out!

Your Asian Market Tak Shing is Asian market that specializes in herbs. One section of the market is dedicated to herbs and the other half is a small market. I often come here for Asian vegetables, because are good quality, fresh and are reasonable priced. If you come here for the vegetables, come earlier during the day before they sell out.

Lots of goodies In the sprawling Chinese metropolis that is Monterey Park, Tak Shing Hong has it all- fresh fruit and vegetables, dried goods, packaged snacks, herbs, small appliances, slippers, comparable to a Super WalMart or Target of some sort. The lines are long and disorderly but if you go early enough, you won't have to deal with either. No bargarining though; this isn't a flea market but a real marketplace.
