My family has came to TaiSan’s for years. Sorry to see they’ve closed the doors
Beef broccoli, Kongpau tofu, stir fried chicken rice noodles were all good. BBQ pork bun was not good. They were frozen commercial kind and they microwave it too long that the bun was hard and dry. They use the type of clear plastic box was not supposed to be for hot food.
Finally tried this place after 16 years in Berkeley, complaining the entire time that there are no good Chinese places that offer delivery after Little Hunan on Shattuck closed down. They were the best...sigh.... Tai San is a really close second, though, and I'm excited to work my way through the menu. In general, they were fast (15 min to pick up, no delivery), friendly (family-owned) and the portions were huge. Off to a good start! I called before I went to see if they had my item. They did so, when I walked in and the young guy from the phone knew who I was by my item, that made me feel so welcomed. I took my oder to go. It was good and I will be back for more. Thanks for being friendly, welcoming, personable, and professional all at the same time.
