I love this spot Not only is it at the beach It has amazing view and it is just a drive away from every where !! I can bring my dogs and leave them in the room, walk to the dog friendly beach or dine/ drink at one of the best restaurants on north shore Tahoe . Ed is very accommodating and leaves the key at the reception door for late nights checkin. Always lets me check out late so I can enjoy the beach’s attractions all day of departure. We made a reservation at this property several weeks in advance, but upon arrival for check-in, no one was there. The place appeared abandoned, and the exterior was significantly older and more run-down than what was shown in the online photos. It looked as though it hadn’t been maintained or attended to for at least a couple of weeks. There was even a network router dangling from the roof near the entrance, which raised immediate concerns about safety and overall upkeep. Best spot on Carnelian Bay. Old Tahoe style 😎 with the best dining on the North lake across the street at Gar Woods. 7/11 open 24/7 for all your sundry and snack needs right there outside the parking lot. Stunning views right out your front door & windows. Dog friendly for a modest extra fee.

The owner/operator was a very nice man. The lodge is in bad need of a major overhaul and update. Rooms smelled old and funky. Honestly, I've stayed in better motel 6 rooms. The location, however, was spectacular! Right across from lake tahoe. Easy walking distance. So it was a give and take. Over all my family was glad to get out of the smelly rooms. But we appreciated the kind gentleman running the place and the awesome location.
