The owner/operator was a very nice man. The lodge is in bad need of a major overhaul and update. Rooms smelled old and funky. Honestly, I've stayed in better motel 6 rooms. The location, however, was spectacular! Right across from lake tahoe. Easy walking distance. So it was a give and take. Over all my family was glad to get out of the smelly rooms. But we appreciated the kind gentleman running the place and the awesome location.

There was no personnel on sight. Our key was taped to the door with our name on it. Grabbed the key and went inside to find a dirty hotel room with very old amenities. There was no A/C so the windows have to be left open so there were tons of bugs in the room. 3 spiders in the bathroom alone, dead bugs and dirt in the bed side drawers. Sat on the bed and it broke, touched the curtain rods and they separated and fell apart. Sheets had holes but seemed to at least be cleaned but the quality of the room is quite poor. Totally fine, good, adequate place to stay with an unbeatable (UNBEATABLE) location for a heck of a price, in a beautiful area. Room was clean, owner was nice and accommodating. I stayed there for 3 nights without a car and walked + took the bus and TART Connect all over the place. Public beach is literally 25 steps from the door. Save your $$ by staying at this wonderfully-priced place to drop your bags & rest your head, and then go spend those dollars at Gar Woods across the street, Waterman's Landing for a kayak rental, a... read more

The location is nice right across from the lake. With nice restaurant options. Beds were uncomfortable, and there were multiple spiders in the room. There wasnt any screens on the windows. The person who runs it is kind.

Arrived for my reservation at 6 PM. Nobody in the office and nobody would answer the phone. Multiple people waiting to get their keys with nobody checking anyone in. This place is a scam! Key drop box had keys in it that people could steal so place is extremely unsafe. Finally got a call 1.5 hours later. Got on the room and was majorly unimpressed. Fridge and microwave unplugged, so couldn't use the fridge. TV didn't work. No air conditioning so you have to leave the window open to listen to the wonderful serenade of sirens.... read more
