Our guided Kayak experience at Sand Harbor was an expensive let down. We kayaked 10-15 min away from the beach, told to stay near the shore (gd advice) but then that was it. We milled around, took some photos, kayaked in circles out of boredom, were told it’s likely we’ll see nothing from the transparent kayaks. We wanted to go further up the coast but were discouraged from doing so. Our tour guide was Colby, the young man was way over his head. After reading the latest two reviews I can see that similar things are continuing to happen that are not positive to the Tahoe Jack Adventure Experience. Lack of engagement, lack of guidance, lack of expectations, lack of answering questions about guidance and expectations. Excellent experience! Our driver was Jeff. He was so personable and friendly! Colby was our guide and just perfect for our group of mixed experience kayakers. He was literally the best. Grant helped us put equipment away and was great too. This tour was so good! Thanks for a great experience!
We were contacted about 24 hours before our scheduled clear kayak tour on a Friday morning in late September. We were flying, so it went to voicemail. We were told they didn’t have enough people booked to make it worth them going out. In the same note they asked if we could move to another day and time later in the weekend. We had a whole trip planned around this tour so couldn’t move it. We called back, texted, and left messages asking for a refund in that case. They never called us back and never refunded.
