A wonderful apartment building designed by the famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando (born 1941). Unlike Paris and Venice, unfortunately New York City does not have a museum space designed by Ando so this is as good as it gets (although the Magazzino Italian Art Museum in Cold Spring NY was clearly influenced by Ando's architecture). But the elements of his design philosophy, minimalism, bespoke concrete, and clarity of concept, are all here.
