When getting Chinese takeout it should be a given that the sauce should ALWAYS come on the side. This was our 1st time there, we are normally Hong Kong loyalists but wanted to try something closer. It was my fault for assuming the sauce would be on the side and I was optimistic when I saw a container of sweet and sour in our box. Nope. Food was on the good side but much different than Szechuan I've had in the north east and Seattle's international district. Mine was takeout. The cashier was busy but friendly.
I came here with my 2 buddies as one had recommended it. You instantly can feel that’s it’s a small mom and pop restaurant with not a big staff at all, the interior is not all new and nice like some chains but that’s what gives heart. The owner I’m guessing I didn’t get his name was very nice and talkative very energetic and happy, the food came quick and we also were given tea. Dan Dan noodles are very unique with their hand cut noodles a little thicker than I would have liked though. When I eat my Szechuan Dan Dan noodles, I want my mouth to turn numb and tingle like I'm sucking on a 9-volt battery. I didn't get any of that with this dish. Mostly just the oil and subtle flavors.
