Once upon a time, Taco Bell was recession-proof. It provided a cheap, edible (so we're told) product that could get you through a late night. I know costs have gone up, but $9 for two tacos and the world's smallest burrito?! It's literally 29 cents worth of ground whatever and a couple tortillas.
