Sad day - we’ve been to Table Mesa for years. We brought out of state family here because it’s been a favorite. It’d been a minute so we ordered some chimichangas and queso to go. What a disappointment. There’s literally no flavor here. The queso, whatever it is, can’t possibly be queso. I don’t know what happened but please undo it. The chips are still good. But the chicken seems like it’s boiled, the corn in the chimichanga was kinda weird, and the tomato salsa is even bland somehow.
Had the Mahi Mahi tacos with a coke and my wife had the Brisket tacos with a water. They were both delicious. Service was good. My only issue was the suggested tip math on the bill irked me. The bill came to about $35 plus $5 tax. The suggested 25% tip said to pay $59 based on pre tax. That is more than a 50% tip and not a 25% tip. Think they may have a glitch in their receipt software. It's the little things.
It smells amazing as soon as you enter the building! We were only there for the limited brunch and I would 100% come back for dinner options or the sunday brunch. Our server Devin was great! My only "complaint" (not really bc it is personal preference) is that the salsas were not spicy enough & the food needed a pinch of salt but there were no shakers on the tables. The hot sauce helped fix that and I devoured the meal!
The chips were honestly the highlight and I mean just the chips, not the salsa. They were fresh, crispy, and really good. Unfortunately, the rest of the food was pretty average, especially for the price. Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out enough to justify what we paid. Glad we tried it, but we probably wouldn’t come back.
Catelyn was a great waitress and the food was incredible!
