I go for the open palettes of field stone, sold by the pound. It's wonderful to be able to pick your own and only get the amount you need. Some day, when I have a 'real' project I will go to McVey first -- they are always friendly and accommodating, and the clients who are being waited on always sound satisfied (you can smell disgruntlement a mile away, and I have never sensed it there).
