The orchestra and the conductor (Larry Loh) are great, and it's such a treat to be have access to this kind of high-quality music-making in Central NY. My big concern, however, is the fact that concerts are accompanied by the chewing and crackling of popcorn and the falling of empty beer/soda cans. This is unacceptable in a space where the word "pianissimo" matters.
I had an amazing time listening to the Syracuse Orchestra where all are welcome, dressed up or down. Anyone from anywhere can enjoy the incredible shows from highly talented performers. I definitely recommend everyone consider attending.
The orchestra and the conductor (Larry Loh) are wonderful, and it's such a treat to be have access to this kind of high-quality music-making in Central NY. My only concern would be to say that it would be deeply appreciated if classical music concerts were not accompanied by the chewing and crackling of popcorn and the falling of empty beer cans. Not to sound elitist, but such sounds are not conducive to creating a space where the word "pianissimo" matters.
I went to see Mahler’s Resurrection with two friends and it was absolutely amazing! We didn’t even feel like we were in the room anymore. It was like being transported to a higher place where all you could feel was the sheer emotion from the orchestra’s playing.
