We have been very happy with our experience at Sylvan. My 2nd grader started last January to help her catch up in her reading skills. Her first assessment scored her at a kindergarten level and after going for almost a year, she is now scoring at a 4th grade level as a 3rd grader. Sylvan Bannockburn staff have been great to work with for the past 4+ years. The teachers have been excellent as well as the scheduling staff. I like how they have curriculum in some areas that can be worked on to improve in a particular area, like writing. So in addition to homework help, there are ways to assist students achieve improved learning overall. Highly recommended!
My daughter has struggled since 1st grade in reading. She is now in 2nd and Sylvan has helped boost her confidence. She has fun at tutoring making her least favorite thing to do/learn not so bad. I am very pleased!
My son, Marcus, had a really hard time in the spring going from in person to remote learning. Being in kindergarten, in person learning is crucial to build a foundation of literacy and math skills. Also, during this time he was diagnosed with ADHD, which makes learning and sitting still a challenge.
