This is the most corrupt organization I have ever dealt with. My 8 year old son was part of the y basketball team. His coach Julia Peress bullied and intimidated him to the point where she had him kicked off the team. Unfortunately, there is no proper internal regulatory body to uphold ethical standards and our issues were belittled by the CEO.
After being a regular attendee for months, our most recent experience has forced us to discontinue our membership. The core issue is a complete lack of clear, consistent, and reasonably applied policies regarding facility access. The problem revolves around access to the family changing room. Good gym but fix the schedules it doesn’t add up
I have been a devoted member of the Y for over 37 years. Over decades, I came regularly to maintain my health and strength. But recently, the treatment I received was shocking and deeply hurtful. In mid-2025, when I was 82 years old and coping with serious physical challenges (a broken hip and limited mobility), I was suddenly told that my membership would be canceled. NOISE POLLUTION BUILDING - Fantastic gym facility, prestine. But the NOISE POLLUTION coming from this building is absolutely too much. I dont know if the HVAC unit belongs to the YMHA, The school or the theatre. But I hear it 2 roads away from inside my appartment year round and especially in the summer when I keep the windows open to stay cool.
