We absolutely love Dr Arshad and his staff. They have always been so pleasant to us. He always answers our questions and his secretary and receptionist have always been so friendly. The nurses in the infusion center are just awesome. I have never met such caring and compassionate nurses. We feel really blessed to have this cancer center so close to our house. My doctor faxed over my information to this office and I was told I would get a call. Never received a call. So I called twice and left a message. They state on their recording to wait up to 72 hours for a call back and don't call more than once. Well it's been well over 2 weeks and I have yet to receive a call back.
On 7/08 I had an appointment with Dr.Arshad and was told I needed a PET scan to rule out cancer. The follow up appointment was by phone and was scheduled at 4:30. At 5:40 the doctor called me and said I would need a bone biopsy and his office would call me the next day with a date for this procedure. I never heard from his office. I called and left a message. I met with a visiting doctor, while Dr. Arshad was on vacation, to discuss chronic fatigue and other symptoms related to some long-term struggles with iron absorption. The visiting doctor spent a lot of time with me and said she would have an order for iron infusions sent for pre-authorization to my insurance. Over a week later, the nurse called me and straight up lied about my insurance denying the infusions. While I wish better, unfortunately Dr. Ashad was too worried about his patient roster(35 clients) —and the time he’d be at work today vs focusing on the patient in front of him & giving the family 100% attention. This wouldn’t happen if you were at siteman cancer center. This now makes sense why the patient is in the spot they are in from the side effects of chemo… the Lack of attention to details matter in life and death situations.
