I've seen several psychiatrists over the years and Dr. Viqar is by far the best. He's first one that actually listens, doesn't judge, and wants to help you get better rather being stuck in a revolving door of medicated lethargy. I'm most impressed by his wide range of knowledge. I use to wait up an hour for visits with other doctors and Dr. Viqar has been on time every time I've gone. He also has gone beyond my expectations for the length of the visits. I really don’t think that Dr. Viqar has the best intentions for the patient in mind. As I read in a previous review on this site, I do agree that the doctor comes across as very condescending towards his patients. What I found very troubling, is when speaking to him on the phone, you could tell that he cannot put a name to a face, thus, treating the patient as second class, acting very rude and arrogant. I thought he was great, I wish I could ask where the person above this was seeing him because he currently just left my doctor's office and the new doctor there is a whack job. :/

Appointments with Dr. Viqar last about 5 minutes and he does not listen to me when I answer his questions. I asked him specifically not to prescribe an antidepressant I'd had a bad reaction to in the past, but he insisted on it, and of course I had a bad reaction again. He's condescending and adversarial for no reason. After 3 years and several different psychiatrists at this office, I'm leaving now that they've assigned me to Dr. Viqar.
