⭐ Very disappointing experience – excessive waiting time and poor communication I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Sydney Hospital Hand Unit. I was given an appointment for 9:20 am and instructed to arrive 15 minutes early. I arrived at around 9:00 am as requested, yet by 1:23 pm, I was still waiting to be seen. Worst experience ever. I'm on day two of waiting for hand surgery after a deep laceration. The first day I came at 8:30am and told at 5pm sorry come back tomorrow. Arrived at 10:30am today and it's now 4:30pm I've still not been seen. I was told I'm at risk of infection and my wound has been open for a few days but I guess that's not considered urgent. I never want to come here again.
The attitude of the hospital reception staff made me feel as though I owed the hospital thousands of dollars rather than being a paying patient seeking medical care. I called to ask about making an appointment for hand surgery and was told that the outpatient clinic was closed and would not reopen until 1:00 pm. My experience at the Sydney Eye Hospital Hand Clinic was excellent. The staff are highly skilled, professional, and always welcoming with a smile, delivering top-quality care—especially Dr. Lil Xu and the nurses Xia, Sophia, Fey, Min, and Bae. I truly appreciate them all.
