Someone else below complained about Dr Lakni Weerasinghe, and I had a very similar uncomfortable experience. Firstly, very shocked at her lack of hygiene--in a hospital! Putting a previously unsealed cotton-tipped swab directly in my eye seemed unprofessional. And I was there about an eye infection! She only reluctantly wiped the frame of the camera for me to put my face against, after I asked her to wipe it. Really poor, super slow. I arrived at the hospital emergency at 3.45pm in intense pain with something lodged in my eye, by 8.45pm still hadn’t seen a doctor. Not many people in the waiting room, no updates from anyone about when a doctor would see me. I left after 5 hours, what a terrible standard of care for a specialist emergency department. Do better, your patients deserve better.
Horrible experience today with doctor Lakni Weerasinghe who is young and clearly inexperienced. I waited about 2.5 hr to see doctor for severely swollen eye and so much pain my eyes started to weep. I told both nurses of the pain and again told the doctor. No pain relief or basic advice is offered. I still don't know what medication to take for the pain after complaining about it multiple times.
