It's a nice turnout with plenty of parking, where I met a friend, who drove his motorcycle pulling his "dog trailer. He said his two dogs love the area & the trail. I didn't have time to take the hike, but its on my to do list.
Seems like it’s been unmaintained for a bit. Adventure Pass signage reinforces this theory. 10 months later and still this has not received maintenance.
Overall it’s a great picnic area, a little bit small but very quiet, has restrooms, BBQ stands, is close to parking, easy hiking trails. However, we went in October and there was a sign stating that charcoal barbecue was not allowed due to fire danger. However, we don’t know if it’s true, because at Big Bear city we were told that if a barbecue stand is not covered with some wrap by the city, you can use it. These ones were uncovered.
