We started swim lessons here when my daughter turned 6 months old and we love their baby class! She loves going in the pool each week :) While she loves to splash and kick around, they teach very valuable skills, such as breath control (she can now go under water now for 3-5 seconds), how to climb out of the pool, and to find and grab the wall or their parent. And the teachers are so nice and patient, we love Ms Katy! The pool is nice and warm and the locker room is clean.
I’ll preface my review with an understanding that I believe we started at SwimWest during a time of transition for them. We may return someday and I will happily change my review if things seem different. When we began, a manger was running our class (level 1 for our 18ish month old) so it was clear they were short staffed. The class was rushed. We've been swimming with SwimWest for 5 years now. They do a great job with our boys!
My daughter started lessons when she was 10 years old. She had high anxiety and fear when it came to water, so when she said she wanted to learn to swim I immediatly called Swim West. I was so nervous having her start so late in life, worried she would be judged or picked on by other kids in the class due to her being significantly older then the other kids at her level. Swimwest has done a great job with lessons this summer. Our child is not comfortable in the water and they have been so helpful to make it a positive experience!
