Dr Sweeney was my mom’s doctor and he was wonderful. Couldn’t have asked for a better doctor. She died in 2010. My husband. Daughter and I started seeing him. We changed doctors after we went to him years later and he started screaming at us and yelling. Turned red in his face. He needs to go to anger management classes or get a checkup himself to see why he gets angry when it is not warranted. We will never go back to him. My late father, John Thurmond, had quadruple bypass surgery at CCMH nearly three years ago. He spent a few days in CCU, as expected, and was transferred to the post op where he spent two weeks laying in bed! Only upon my persistence did they finally get him up and moving two days before his transfer to a rehab center in Altus. I was livid! The goal was to get my dad more mobile so he could admitted into CCMH rehab and stay closer to his cardiologist, not 70 miles away! This doctor is mean to not only to staff but to patients as well. He should’ve retired at least a decade ago. His bedside manner just keeps getting worse. I switched to Dr. Ayirala instead. He definitely has a reputation for being a great doctor, however he also has a reputation for yelling at patients and staff through out the hospital, making patients cry, and generally being an unpleasant person. I would recommend any other doctor at Heart & Vascular except him.
