Horribly understaffed. I would avoid Swedish.
This review is more like a giant love letter to Swedish First Hill (Hospital and ER) and to my doctors that work at Swedish-- thank you for bringing me back to life in every way! It started with the ER ordering a scan which showed tons of inflammation which led to me being admitted. Once admitted, the doctors really leaned in, listened to everything I had been sharing for so long but this time they seemed to understand what I was I was saying and ordered all the right tests. Went in b/c of a high fever and no urgent clinics were open. Got a bill charging over $1000 for a flu/covid test and was told there is no negotiating and that I should only have gone in if it was "life threatening".
My first extended stay in a hospital was here for 6 days in January. They took great care of me. The medical staff understood my anxieties & made me feel as comfortable as possible. The doctors made sure I understood the nature of my situation & provided me with any information I needed, financial support, including a note for my employer.
