I took my 35 year old Johnson outboard to have a seal in the lower unit replaced for leaking. This motor spent the last 14 years in Michigan in an unheated barn, I forgot to tell him this. The owner put new oil in and put it under pressure for 24 hours which showed no leaks. 5 Days later it got down to 30 degrees and it was leaking.
