Sutherland Downs Retreat is an absolute gem! Tucked away in the peaceful countryside, it’s the perfect spot to unwind. The rooms are beautifully designed—super cozy and inviting, making it feel like a home away from home. Our host was incredibly warm and attentive, making the stay even better. Great experience all round with so much fun to be had with all the games room activities on hand as well as lots of relaxing in the beautiful scenery and spa. Our group found it perfect to celebrate a mile-stone birthday and be close to excellent surf beaches and come back to a cosy home fire, games and large kitchen to cook up a feast. Then wake up in the morning to views and animals. Plenty of space for us all, we even had a pilates session in the studio.

We absolutely loved our stay at Sutherland Downs. Can’t recommend highly enough! Pros: expansive views over Wallis Lake, stress-melting wood-fired hot tub and pool; ample space for our extended family; the joy on our kids’ faces as they fed the miniature horses, donkey, goats, sheep and cows; the boredom eradicating selection of kids books and games; and the fun-filled rumpus room overflowing with sports equipment. Cons: having to wave goodbye at the end of our stay!

What a truly wonderful location! So much space for our group and plenty of room for us to access all the wonderful amenities. Swimming Pool, fire pit, friendly donkey, ponies, goats and sheep. Lots of activities for the kids and kidaults. Relatively close to Forster, Boomerang & Blueys Beaches without the crowds a noise. We would return again in a heartbeat!

We have had a sensational weekend with the North Steyne SLSC special needs nippers and their family staying on the farm and swimming at Cape Hawke and Elizabeth Beach. Well appointed for large groups or multiple families and the hosts could not be more accommodating. Plenty of open space, pool, games room and the animals were our huge hit with the kids. Thanks so much! We will be back!
