I've been regularly visiting this hospital for close to 4 years now due to severe eye pressure issues. The staff are fantastic, always welcoming and genuinely caring. I've spoken with an array of technicians, doctors, nurses, etc and they truly are the heart of the hospital. If you're visiting A&E, be prepared to be waiting for hours however this is just the state of the NHS since the pandemic and is nothing different to any other A&E. Excellent staff and the clinical services are wonderful. Downside is parking, absolutely awful, side road parking is limited, time bounded and expensive, across the road RSCH parking is available but in very high demand cost 8.40 for up to 4hrs!
form the moment I walked through the door, i was met by Luigi on reception, who said, "don't worry, we're going to look after you," - and they really did. I had to come back on day 2 for emergency laser eye surgery- all the staff were really lovely and friendly despite their currently increased workload, the whole place is run very efficiently and smartly.
