The noodles that they prepare right in here are amazing, thick and very tasty, there are several flavors to choose from and I haven’t tried the chicken and egg one, I will go this week and I will order that.
Green Mussel Appetizer Rocks! The green mussel appetizer is the best in town. And so is the sushi. If only the rest of Boulder didn't think the same. It's impossible to get a table here :(
The sushi is average and service is horrible. We were ignored by the wait staff and had to get there attention several times to get service. They dont anticipate a customers needs they wait to be summoned. They need training from the Village Inn or something.
I've never felt so ripped off by a meal – Don't believe the hype. The fish is decent (but sushi den, japon, zanmai and more are just as good if not better. $12 for a very small caterpillar roll - for real. The shumai came with 3 dumplings for $g. We left hungry and ripped off. A $65 bill for 3 pieces of nigiri each, 1 roll, a handroll and some shumai, and 1 drink each. Downright offensive.
Sushi Tora is perhaps one of the best sushi restaurants in Boulder..although not as good as it was in previous years..due primarily to a change in ownership about 14 years ago. One thing that most diners don't appreciate..if they haven't actually eaten at sushi restaurants in Japan..is the scrupulous attention that the Japanese pay to freshness..especially with raw fish. Sushi Tora used to be that scrupulous with their menu items in the past..but my Japanese relatives feel that because many Americans cannot discriminate fres... read more
Best place for sushi in Boulder in my opinion. This is very authentic Japanese sushi! The raw fish is usually very fresh and is presented beautifully. The rainbow roll is also very good. This place can get pretty crowded on Friday and Saturday nights so go for lunch on the week-end instead of dinner and you will get better service.
Probably one of the best sushi in Colorado – My wife and I are regular at this place. The fish, most of the time, is very fresh. I recommend going for lunch on Saturday. Their Hamachi (Yellowtail) collar is really good. I also like the Toro sashimi which sometimes isn't available during weekday. If you like sushi, try to stick with nigiri. I personally don't like the maki (roll) stuffs as it has too many things that sometimes overwhelm the fish. Service is great when not crowded (Saturday lunch). Highly recommend.
Real Sushi – Still the best sushi in Boulder after all these years. I do go to Hapa now and then but when I want the real thing with great service, there is no place like sushi Tora.
One of the two best places in Boulder for sushi Sushi Tora is a great place to eat sushi if you really know and understand sushi. Sushi Zanmai and Sushi Den in Denver are the only places a real sushi Affectionados will dine. Go to Hapa or japango for OK rolls that suit many people lacking in experience or for typical american appeal.
Sushi Tora has a 4 star rating with 67 reviews.
Sushi Tora is open now. It will close at 9:30 p.m.
