Fresh Stuff Sushi Mimi is a quaint little place. I would have given 5 stars if I were filthy rich. For the portions I got, I felt the prices were a bit steep. But overall, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is homey. A good place to come in small groups.

I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so I love this little place, I come here for lunch all the time. My favorite item is there Udon sushi combo. It's a small bowl of Udon noodles, seven pieces of sushi, and soy paper hand roll. It's just the right amount of food. You know this place is good because it has lots of Japanese people eating there. Service is always friendly and the food is really good.
Favorite OC sit down sushi house. – Having had the chance to try dozens of sushi restaurants in the U.S.A. and Canada I can say that Sushi Mimi is one of the best that I have been to. Excellent. The sushi here is some of the best around. Fresh sashimi with very good flavor. Japanese owned. Please do not insult the chefs by ordering california rolls or anything of the sort. Try the chef's choice and let them expand your horizons.
True Japanese Cuisine – The best Sushi place. Forget the glitzy, pricey, chic restaurants out there... this is the real deal (owned by a Japanese couple). If you come to this place please do not insult the sushi chef by ordering the usual American sushi (Rolls). Try something authentic and let the sushi chef teach you a bit of Japanese culture. It is a fun and cozy place. The price is amazingly comfortable and if you enjoy culture and trying new things- this is the place. Try to go for early dinner (5pm) to avoid crowds.
fresh sashimi, cozy ambience – didn't realize it's owned by previous owners of Koto 'til I read the other reviews. now it makes more sense that the food here is great. ambience is like many small japanese restaurants in OC...cozy. you know it's good when you walk in and see many Japanese customers there.
former KOTO restaurant. everything tastes SO GOOD – Koto was located in Newport Beach, and the best Japanese restaurant in OC for more than 12 years. I missed KOTO so much and when I found out that Koto owners opened a new Japanese restaurant, I went there, and the taste is the same and just great. It will definitely going to be the hot spot, highly recommended for anyone who missed Koto.
Best sushi in OC – The sushi here is definately one of the best in OC. The owners are actually the people that ran Koto which was the high-end, very popular, Japanese restaurant in Irvine.
