Hands down the best sushi I’ve had in my life - worth the 40+ minute drive we make each way to enjoy when we can! Start with the miso soup, which is exquisite. The sushi roll “7th Heaven” is aptly named and a favorite in our book. Enjoy the “Katana” roll for a unique citrusy ginger flavor and the “Salmon Lover’s” roll (gluten-free!) is lovely and flavorful. Stopped in for a quick bite to eat, so I ordered a handful of appetizers. While the cucumber sunomono salad was small and unmemorable, the Kinoko tofu was hearty and delicious, the Ume-Shiso was amazing, and the Renkon Tempura was so very good that I wanted to order another one during my meal. 3/5. I was disappointed with my experience at KIWAMI, primarily due to the service. The sushi itself was pretty decent, especially the handmade rolls. Food-wise, solid! However, the waitress on duty was unfortunately very inattentive to our table. My family and I came in around 5 on Sunday and it was not too busy, but once we were handed our menus, it took the waitress 7 or so minutes to come back around and check in on us. This place has great fresh fish, fair prices and the staff is great. I love this place. They have a really good happy hour menu. Indecently expensive but so worth it!
