Went there for the first time and had a great experience. We asked the waiter, David (awesome guy, really friendly), for recommendations and he gave us a few suggestions and talked about flavors and textures and temperatures. Another amazing evening at Sushi Hatsu! Since opening in 2019, just before COVID, they have only gotten better each year. What makes this place so special is the way the chefs bring together the distinct flavors of Japan’s prefectures, showcasing the foods and traditions each region is known for. This was my first time eating here and it is my new favorite restaurant!! The service was amazing and all of the staff seemed like a family! The owner gave our table other things on the menu just to try, and the lobster ravioli was incredible! The sushi and miso soup were also very good. I can’t recommend this place more and am looking forward to when I can go back!
Some of the best sushi in the greater Philly area when it comes to freshness and genuine quality. This isn’t a place for overloaded, junky rolls—the focus is on really fresh ingredients, clean flavors, and great preparation. I have never experienced anything like this at a restaurant before. We drove 45 minutes specifically for a reservation, and when we arrived, we were told that our table would be outside. There was a festival going on, the area was packed, and the outdoor seating situation was completely different from what we had expected. What is especially frustrating is that nobody warned us about this when the reservation was made. There had also been a problem with our phone number when the reservation was taken.
