Used to go there a couple times a month. Then it started to get too busy,. The sushi is very very good.. We started to patronize again it's not as busy as it used to be and the service is a little slower, but the sushi is still very good.
Great fish! – Great raw bar! The chefs are a lot of fun to talk to while eating, and the other customers at the bar sometimes will share interesting rolls with others at the bar. Fun atmosphere. Great tasting sushi rice!
Tampa is saturated with sushi bars left and right. Some mom and pop, some trendy. I love sushi alive because it is the best of both worlds. The atmosphere is not too uptight and the sushi is not too pretentious like most of the other "hip" sushi joints in town. You can actually talk to a sushi chef that speaks english. My husband and i went on a busy friday night... place was packed and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves regardless of the wait or the crowd. Really good food! Great service, modern hip atmosphere. – We've eaten at Sushi Alive no less than 5 times in the last 3 months -- lunch and dinner. The food and service are consistently top-notch. This is by far the best sushi in the area.
