The best doctor all around. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 8 years ago when I was living in Iowa. When I moved to Chillicothe, Mo. 3 years ago, I found Dr. D'Amato and she found out that I have Hushimoto Disease which I will never know until she did the proper testing and now with proper medication. I'm doing great!

In 2003 Brokken showed that TSH is falsely lowered by both stimulating and blocking TSH receptor antibodies. The pituitary recognizes these antibodies as if they were TSH. Thinking we have adequate TSH it stops secreting it. I do find that family practice doctors have a better understanding of Graves' disease than most endos. The TSH test was intended as a screening test to tell if one had a thyroid disorder. It was never meant to be used to monitor treatment. Doctor D 'Amico is very knowledgeable and has been a blessing in a town that has not had a great diabetic endocrinologist in a long time. Yes, She is very busy and she is booked out,, but that is the reason why,. In my 45 years as a diabetic, I have only had 2 endocrinologists that even spent more than 20 seconds talking to me , Or had the actual knowledge and know how to help me out. RUDE, whoever keeps answering their phone is terrible. She's basically saying go somewhere else. Cannot get an appointment for 6 months. Why have an office if you cannot accommodate patients?
