I am sharing my past experience with Dr . Herman I usually don’t give reviews however , when it comes to someone who went above and beyond to change my life I will make exception’s .Prior to me getting there I was having issues with my seizures I was going from Dr to Dr everyone said why don't we just increase the meds until I got to Beth Israel they took my old meds out of me and gave me different meds I cannot tell you how much she changed my life and cannot thank her enough anyone I come across I have sent to her .
This doctor use to work at University of Penn in Philadelphia. In 2007, I was put in UPenn's Epilepsy Monitoring Unit for a week. Dr. Herman monitored me having seizures during my sleep but in the end couldn't figure out how to help my condition. I was released and put on Keppra(which didn't work), then changed to other medications. My condition worsened until August 2010 when I met Dr. Michael Sperling with Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Excellent doctor and extremely knowledgeable. Diagnosed a rare condition when local neurologists had no clue. She is a life changer!
I was a patient of Dr. Herman for a couple of years. My psychiatrist tried repeatedly to contact her with concerns about my medication and was unable to get in touch with her, and she did not return his calls. I also called Dr. Herman's office, and left repeated(5+) messages for her over the course of two weeks to follow up on this matter. Again Dr. Herman did not return my calls, nor did anyone from her office. At this point I obtained a referral for a different neurologist.
