I know someone who went to this firm after facing racial discrimination at work — she paid $650 just for a consultation, then another $5,000 in fees, only for them to ultimately decline to take her case. Declining a case happens. What’s disturbing is that she was then told she should basically expect racism as part of the job, and that the firm had no obligation to help protect her from it.
