susan mcmanus told me years ago that I had breast cancer, her and her nurse pressured me to have surgery and start radiation and chemotherapy, I had to ask her for a biopsy, which was inconclusive but the pressure tactics continued. I had a second opinion and I didn’t have breast cancer,. I was Misdiagnosed by this person, so watch out for her and get a second opinion.
Dr. McManus had a kindly demeanor until I asked her a question about one of the metrics that was a part of my diagnosis. She then became testy and said "No.I am not going to turn this into a pathology lesson." Later, when I read about this metric (Nottingham score), I realized that her knowledge of it was incomplete, and that that was probably why she had reacted the way that she did. She did not inform me of all of the treatment options that are available.
Dr. McManus is the most kind, caring and understanding specialist I ever met. The minute she checked me she comfort me so much with her kind word which I will never forget was “ kiddo you r not going anywhere” It gives me so much hope and positive energy to deal with my problem. She saved my life 14 years ago. I could not get in with other places for months. I got a hold of her and got an important immediately. Her staff was amazing with getting me in and understanding how scared I was , just had a baby. Dr McManus looked at everything and said I can tell you it’s cancer. She had an opening 2 days later for surgery. She said we can wait until Friday to get your biopsy back or I can have it out by Thursday. Husband and I opted for Thursday.
