Dr Igor and Dr Frazier and Dr Cooley were my mentors at Texas heart Institute from may 1999-2001. I remember the comment by seniors that there is only one way to learn Cardiac surgery: Igor's way. And I have seen Dr Igor at 2 am and 6 am and 11 pm on the same day many times on many occasions in the OR or icu. He made me do a lot of surgery and helped me for gaining that tough mindset needed for a cardiac surgeon to carry on despite all odds. I love and respect Dr Igor. . .
Dr. Gregoric is my less sung hero. He operates when you are unconscious and fixes the most complicated part, then he meets you for few minutes when you wake up. After this he mostly either crosses path in the rest room or cafeteria but has taken the key step of Journey. He is behind the scene celebrity whom most of the time we don't know.
