I just wrapped up my post surgery appointments at the Surgical Assessment Centre. Following a total hip replacement, the health authority provides 3 physio appointments to ensure you are back on your feet and functional in your home. I worked with Andrea, one of the physios, who was able to adapt the exercises to my abilities. She was very encouraging, complimentary of the work I was doing and offered good insights into the work required to bring balance back to my gait. Very disappointing. The therapist did about 58 minutes of talking. I had mentioned that I was finding help with additional therapies as chiropractor , RMT and Acupuncture, he dismissed those immediately. His lack of assessment had me wondering how he arrived at some of his conclusions (which were contrary to the other professionals I had seen) . Other then a couple of tips it was not worth the drive in.

Jane Peters 1m . ∞ I have immense gratitude for the Hip and Knee Clinic in Regina. I recently underwent a knee replacement and never having had an invasive surgery, it was traumatic to say the least. I dealt with the swelling and pain for 2 weeks and then was called into the clinic for an assessment and the start of physio. Lisa and the crew in the rehab were stellar.
