While I was unconscious, unclothed, and completely vulnerable, Marcus Alvarez assumed I was a substance abuser. Upon waking from anesthesia, he directly accused me of drug and alcohol abuse. Avoid Marcus Alvarez like the plague. Very misogynistic and demeaning. Wish I never let him do my surgery. He made it VERY clear I never have to come see him again. And I won’t. He should have his license revoked.

On March 5th of 2025, I had a muscular biopsy done by Marcus Alvarez, MD through surgical Alliance on a referral from my neurologist. However, Marcus Alvarez, MD did not do this procedure in a way that would produce any results. According to the biopsy report from the pathology lab at tennova, the sample that he collected was insufficient. According to my primary care physician, the additive that he used to hold the tissue that he collected was incorrect. Had some lower lumber cysts removed with DR Alvarez after being referred by my primary- first surgery. Amazing bed side manner, answered all of my questions and made sure I was at ease. Hard to find any DR or surgeon nowadays who is willing to take the time and care to answer questions and explain things, thank you for your patience and care! All the nurses were extremely kind.
