RecommendedThere's very little that can get me up early, but a lesson with Surf School Santa Crus was it! We had an absolute blast with Big C, who helped me get up on my first wave after not surfing for a decade. He provided clear instruction and the support I needed to get back on the board. Plus, Santa Cruz is a great destination for a little getaway outside the Bay Area.
My son and grandson did the surf thing and the guys there were very good. They made it a lot of fun for them and also how to be safe doing this. If you want to learn to surf these are your guys.
I did a lesson before work which was my first time back on a board in about ten years. Great instruction by C who made sure to reintroduce me to the fundamentals and providing clear advice on how to immediately improve. If you're interested in learning, or trying again, I'd definitely get in touch with these guys. Also about a 50 minute drive to Silicon Valley if you want to sneak a surf in before work.
I booked a private lesson on Jan 25, 2017. It was my very first time on a surf board and I had such a good time! Guys from Surf School Santa Cruz were very nice with me. My instructor was super patient, funny, gave me very clear instructions and made me feel at ease. I could tell it wasn’t his first rodeo and he knew what he was doing. I had such a good experience. I will definitely come back and I would recommend this surf school to everyone!

My daughter Cassidy and I came and had the best time ever. The instructors were courteous and knowledgeable and most of all fun. HIGHLY recommended!!!!
Wow, what a liberating experience! A friend and I came from Tennessee for a work trip and thought it would be cool to say we surfed in Cali, so I booked us a 2 person private lesson. Best decision I made the whole time we were in town! Jacob was amazing!! He has the best personality and had us both standing on our boards in no time, which was quite the accomplishment because neither of us thought it was doable. We hated leaving and cannot wait to come back!! Y'all were wonderful, thanks for the great times and memories!!
