My partner got my mom a cooking class for the three of us for her birthday. We opted for the Thai class since none of us were very familiar with cooking Thai food. All instructors/chefs were very friendly and happy to accommodate any questions or requests. Basically they give you some light prep, explain what they’ve already done, explain what they’re going to, and give you bits and pieces of the cooking experience. UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW: Because we had so much fun at the first class we took we decided to do another. It's such a nice activity for us to do as a family. Or so I thought. Today's class was so terrible. And when I compare it to the first class we took it's even worse than that. It wasn't a full class. I used to be a frequent Sur La Table customer and even hosted a couple of private events in the past that went wonderfully. Unfortunately, my recent experience trying to book a birthday party for my 13-year-old was very different. Despite calling multiple times, emailing, and trying to book online, I couldn’t get any help.
