My son had a skull fracture and had to be rushed by ambulance to another hospital. We weren’t given any options on which ambulance we could take. They told us we had to use Superior Air Ground and then We waited 30 min for them to show up. The care was fine but nothing special. We just received the bill, $6600 for a ten mile ambulance ride. They match .25 for every dollar. Training is impossible unless you do it with volunteer department because they won’t cover the cost. Retention is poor due poor management. Poor pto/sick leave. It’s an easy paycheck and good retirement gig, but don’t do if you are passionate about fire service. Part of my soul died there… This is just my opinion and opinion of most that leave to go on to better things.
Superior ambulance is an inconsiderate unprofessional group of losers. They have no ability to see what is a true problem and fix it. Full of excuses, no one capable of doing the right thing for the community Superior thinks it owns and has rights to. They do not pay taxes here, we do. So move on. We will not quit!!
Today I had the honor to met 2 more of Superior's finest people. Chuck and Greg (hope I remembered your names gentlemen) showed grace and kindness to a person. These gentlemen were patient with me, trying to get our patient ready to leave a hospital with medications. They spoke to our patient as a human and not another job or transport. When they reached the home, they were gracious and respectful and got our person tucked into their own bed with their family around to love on them.
