At the time of the inspection, we were excited about closing on our first house. However, the inspection revealed that the attic was contaminated due to previous rat activity. The cleanup, sealing, and insulation repair were all handled in a way that made us feel as though we were fixing the place in the right way from the very beginning. To tell you the truth, initial feelings of being overwhelmed were overpowering. Tom was able to assist in breaking everything down without making us feel rushed or hurried.
Built a fixer upper assuming the primary priority was cosmetic fixes. Then the attic examination. Rodent damage, tainted insulation and leaks everywhere. Tom helped us get the hidden stuff out of the way first, and now the house actually feels substantial before we even get to paint colors.
We continued to disregard the earthy odor that would waft into the basement with each passing rainstorm. Stupid decision. Even though basement mold cleanup was ultimately required, the process went more smoothly than anticipated. The element that stood out the most was undoubtedly Evelin's communication.
Our nursery renovation hit a pause when insulation contamination was discovered overhead. Rodent proofing plus full replacement became non-negotiable. Joey understood why urgency mattered and kept everything moving quickly.
