I got their system about 8 years ago... Now it has broken and they will not answer their phone or their email. There address in North KC is held by someone else and their website shows an address in west bottoms... that building is empty... I tried yesterday and it was being gutted.
Highly recommend SunSmart Technologies and their team, very professional, transparent, and reliable.
Update: It is now 2025 and while my enthusiasm for solar energy is as strong as ever, my opinion of Sun Smart has gone way down. Over the last 2-3 years I have had little or no luck getting hold of anybody there. I have become a customer of Shinnavo Co. and we will see how they do on an upcoming service call in a couple weeks. Won't answer phone or respond to emails. Matter of fact I think my wife said the email server kicked it back as undeliverable. Purchased 2 systems from them about 9 years ago a 31 panel array and a 16 panel array. Recently had 2 panels fail(arc/shorted out). Called to see about servicing them under warranty(should be atleast 10 years from manufacturer). No response from Sunsmartusa. Warranty is only good if the business is still reputable or in business. Buyer beware.
3rd year, I jumped the gun a little and got a 6 Kwh system for my home takes care of about only 50% of my annual electric bill. Last October I called Sunsmart, because my Eguage that tells me how much energy I was creating didn't match what KCPL was giving me credit for, NO RESPONSE! from the service tech. Got my furnace and AC replaced thinking that this would help, no luck. Called Monday to get help and mentioned what happened last year and they said that tech no longer worked for them.
